Gravesano

Gravesano is a municipality located in close proximity to Lugano and convenient to all major services while being in a quiet, residential hillside setting. The four new housing units rise close to the Gravesano core, where we already find an early twentieth-century villa; three of the four new houses are contiguous, just like the typical dwellings that characterize the cores. To resume the idea of a park, the villas were arranged on the perimeter so as to obtain a common central green area for all the new houses and the existing villa on which an Italian-style garden will be repurposed. In order to fully enhance the park area, vehicular access to the basement level of the garage (shared with the villa) by means of a car hoist from the municipal road upstream was opted for, thus avoiding encroaching on the park with an access ramp, vehicle circulation, and off-street parking. This green area not only lends value to the interior of the project but also allows the various buildings to enjoy privacy and optimal sunshine. The three contiguous houses differ slightly from each other in interior layout, but are conceptually similar. They are developed on three levels: a basement with private access from the garage, technical and service rooms; the first floor with pedestrian access from the park, living area with service, exit to the terrace and private garden; and the second floor with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The fourth house is similar to the others in terms of internal layout and access, senonchè has no other attached dwellings and can enjoy a larger area of private garden.
